Inspiration Drawn from Nature: Shenandoah National Park

All work & no play is NOT sustainable. The healthiest balance should include 8 hours of rest, 8 of work and 8 of play. An adventure to Northern Appalachia to visit a colleage in cahoots & tame wildlife was well deserved by both.

My neighbors set me up with a great deal on Hemlock & Cherry Posts for the Pentagon.

Mis vecinos me dieron un chollo por unas columnas de cerezo y cicuta para sostener el pentagono.

Pentagon: Phase I

Just below the terraces I decided to add a living/office space to a circle of poplars. Here are the "Bigfoot Footers" we used to ground this soon-to-be 2-story pentagon. Hand-Made with wood from Bruce Shelton's sawmill (5 minutes down the road) and reclaimed sliding glass doors). These footers allow for serious structural integrity with a minimal amount of concrete.

Por debajo de las terraces decedi anyadir un espacio vivienda/cultivo entre un circulo de arboles. Aqui se ve las fundaciones "Bigfoot" que aseguran una fundacion de alta integridad estructural con el minimo de cemento. El Pentagono "Entre los Arboles" va a tener 3 plantas y estara hecha con madera de la aserradero de un vecino y puertas de vidrio reclamadas.

So much more than a market: Last Saturday there was a kickass puppet show, that kept the kids & adults amazed; always live music - the musicians each recieve a basket of produce donated by the members, and a lively social scene - great people and all in a parking lot that looks more like a tunnel of trees.

Mucho mas que un mercado: El sabado pasado fue un espectaculo de marionetas que fue realmente bien. Los ninyos y los adultos estaban impresionados. Siempre hay musica en vivo y los musicos llevan unas cajas de verduras y frutas frescas a casa. Este mercado tiene una escena social de la hostia, con buena gente, productos organicos y locales en un aparcamiento que parece mas a un tunel de arboles.

My most minamilist farmers market to date was actually a success! People loved the french lentil micros, buckwheat greens, the salad (buckwheat greens, french lentil shoots, goji berries, crushed apricot kernels, dulse, lemon & olive oil) & the 95% Cacao Mayan Afrodesia truffles & Himalayan High truffles.
